Senior Account Executive

About Celery

Celery is a top tier VC-backed B2B fintech startup on a bold mission to transform the financial industry. Our AI platform optimizes financial processes by scraping data from various sources, identifying errors like payroll discrepancies, optimizing revenue, and more. We're not just eliminating manual work; we're helping companies save millions and dramatically improve their margins and profits. If you're ready to make a significant impact and grow with us, let’s talk.

About the Role

Celery is hiring its first dedicated Account Executive. You'll own deals from qualified opportunity through close (discovery, demo, negotiation, contract), selling into US employers with large hourly and blue-collar workforces. You'll report to the CEO first and later a Head of Sales, work alongside BDR and GTM Engineer functions that feed the pipeline, and help shape a sales process and playbook that are still being built. This is a hire for someone who runs a motion without waiting to be told what to do.

What You’ll Do

  • Run full-cycle deals from qualified opportunity to close
  • Self-starter: proactive about surfacing blockers, status, and deal risk without being asked — you’re the only AE on the ground in this market and in-person oversight will be limited
  • Apply MEDDIC for qualification and Challenger-style discovery and deal control, as applied in the playbook
  • Represent Celery at industry conferences and in-person prospect meetings in the US (see Travel)
  • Partner with BDRs and the GTM Engineer on pipeline handoff, and build direct relationships with target accounts
  • Partner with Customer Success on handoff and account transition, be an active contributor to a client’s full rollout
  • Keep pipeline and deal data accurate in HubSpot
  • Work US business hours, Sunday-Thursday and will occasionally need availability on Fridays

Travel

  • US industry conferences and prospect visits, roughly twice per quarter

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5 years of full-cycle SaaS sales, qualification through close, in B2B enterprise or mid-market (required; SMB-only experience is not a fit)
  • Experience selling to US buyers, especially selling to finance executives in labor intensive industries
  • Comfortable with an evolving playbook; early-stage experience preferred
  • Fluent English
  • Strong negotiation and objection handling
  • Selling into blue-collar or labor-intensive verticals (retail, manufacturing, healthcare, logistics) or HRTech/payroll/compliance is a plus, not required
